Sulit.com.ph - A Place Where Money CAN Buy Love and Happiness

With the popularity of finding love, your soulmate, your perfect match through networking sites nowadays, I would like to share with you my own love story of finding my own "perfect match" online through sulit.com.ph

I was searching for the perfect golden retriever puppy to buy for myself on my birthday two years ago. I looked at different websites and sure they had golden retrievers but none of which had the exact features that I wanted. I wanted a female, big boned puppy, one with eyes that were different from all the round eyed pups Ive seen and also a good set of hair on their back.

I found this puppy on sulit.com.ph. She fit the things I was looking for in a puppy plus she had the same birthday as my brother who passed away. While others priced these puppies from 12,000 to 20,000 pesos, I was able to strike a bargain with the seller, Mr. Pio Viado who lowered his price for me at Php9,000. He was very nice to talk to, as he gave me tips on how to take care of her and inspite of living in cavite, made his way to alabang town center to bring her to me.

He sent me photos of the pups he had available and I chose that pup. I was quite nervous on the day I met her. I got to the meeting place early and was tormented by the questions that ran through my head like, what if she looks different from the photos? What if I dont like her!? What if she has fleas or wounds that I did not see on the photo!?

As I saw Mr. Viado heading his way to our meeting place, I saw the puppy he was carrying. I remember feeling my jaw drop. A wave of excitement, relief and awe washed over me. I remember squeeling about how beautiful she was as I touched her. She was perfect. I named her Maya.

I remember the time that I realized how much I would do for love because of her. Years ago, I would ask myself, why would people say they would die for their significant other!? Thats stupid!

I got my answer.. I was taking her for a walk one day when she was about 5 months old. An angry stray dog just started charging for her behind us.. I immediately jumped infront of her and I blacked out, I was angry and I was ready to hurt that other dog to protect her.. which is so unlike me because I am really against animal cruelty. I had managed to scare the dog off by pretending to attack him back.

When we were safe, it was only then that I realized what would have happened to me had the dog not backed down. At the same time I was amazed by how much of myself I was unknowingly ready to give for her. That move was probably stupid to some of you.. but to me, it was an act that only LOVE could motivate one person to sacrifice themselves for even a dog.

Two years down the road, She is well loved by people around her. The kids in our neighborhood would climb the tree outside our house just to call her and pet her. During our walks, she'd get hellos from people I dont know. Who can blame her? Shes very endearing.

To this day, I still revel at how beautiful she is and how her gentle personality fits so well with my family. And its all thanks to sulit.com.ph which paved the way for us to be together and it didnt have to cost me an arm and a leg. Now who says MONEY CANT BUY YOU HAPPINESS?! It can. Go to Sulit!

Cebu Beach Day Trip on a budget

Ive always wanted to just be impulsive, leave manila, go to the beach and just relax and pamper my senses.. I finally did it.. and it was an awesome experience!

I ended up going to Cebu for the day.. I had a bit of business mixed in with my itinerary but.. if you think about it, take the business part and the airfare out, your budget should easily be Php 3,500 - Php4,000 and experience this:

Spend an entire day at Shangrila Mactan Resort and Spa where you can expect to see warm, accommodating staff ready to cater to your needs.

Inclusive of Lunch Buffet at Tides.
Awesome seafood and pork.. not much to say about the lamb and beef though. I believe the buffet starts at 10am and ends at 2:30pm. Hello breakfast and lunch!

Use of facilities which I believe also includes using their gym.
The pool has a basketball ring and a ball anyone could play with. Table tennis sets and Billiard tables are available to use, so are the boxing equipment. You are also lent Bath towels.

and using parasols by the beach with white sand and clear waters.
*FYI - those floaters are free to use too! not sure about the kayaks though.
They also have snorkeling equipment and Jetskis for rent :)
The best thing about this beach: NO VENDORS COMING UP TO YOU EVERY 5 MINUTES!
...just the waiter who will come to your parasol to see if you wanna order something from the bar.

The drinks are quite pricey though ranging from Php150-1000. after that, youre free to sleep, relax and enjoy nature as you please. No worries about leaving your stuff at your parasol, its pretty safe. But still, I suggest you keep your valuables in the bag just to be sure. :)

Now four thousand bucks plus airfare isnt easy to pick up especially if youre on a minimum wage salary. But if you planned ahead and okay.. did a little saving.. then you could get a cheaper airfare.. I got mine a week before the trip and it cost me Php 3,000.. so im sure you could save more by planning ahead.

Trip tips:
1. from exiting the airport, you will see an airport taxi service that costs Php370. Just behind that booth is a metered taxi that starts at Php70. BUT if you are facing those two booths, look to your left and you will see stairs on the other side of the street that will lead you to metered taxis that start at Php30!

2. Dont let taxi drivers milk you with taxi fare.. at the airport, we were already told to report abusive taxi drivers to them. So if you come across one like we did, you can give them the option to 1. put the meter on and you will pay them the amount on the meter or 2. you will pay them their non metered amount but you will report them when you get to the airport.

3. If you cant hack just staying at cebu for one day, you can check Hotel Pier Cuatro. its in mandaue city, about 15mins away from the airport. An overnight stay would only cost less than Php1100. Inclusive of breakfast :)

4. Pack Light. No need to bring a towel. Just Change of clothes, toiletry kit, your wallet, swim wear, sunblock and your camera, you'll be good to go! Can you imagine yourself lugging a HUGE maleta at the beach? come on! hahaha! :p

5. If youre heading to the airport after coming from Shangrila, I suggest you head to the front desk sooner than planned to get a taxi. Very few taxis come to shangrila so its best that you be in line for one so you dont miss your flight.

Costs:
Airport Fee (2) Php400
Shangrila Day Pass Php2500
Taxi Ride to shangrila Php200
Taxi Ride to airport Php200

Total: Php 3,300

----------------------

So lets say you were to spend Php6,500 on this trip.. im telling you, this is a trip that will relax every bit of you and even if it was just for one measly day, it is SO WORTH IT!

Cheers!

Hakuna Ma Tatas

Hakuna matata, what a wonderful phrase! It means no worries for the rest of your days.. even if you had.. well at least in my case, non existent "tatas".

I have nothing against boob jobs or people who want them.. I just dont want them for myself.. Being blessed with an athletic build.. if I had the kind of tatas that make heads turn or at least have the normal sized ones.. I think Id look chunkier than how I already look.. So, yeah.. thats hakuna mah tata for me!

Despite of being told to be proud and shake what our mommas gave us.. there are still women who believe they would be happier with themselves if they had a boob job. Well.. not to discourage any of you.. but heres a video you should consider watching before you actually get one.

If I scared you, Im sorry.. but to put your mind at ease, heres a Myth Busters video subjecting silicone pads to high pressure.

So there are two sides to the story.. If you still plan to get them, and if there was any truth to that first video, I hope for your sake that you dont get the same pads as those which the woman got.

Tata! :)

Has anyone ever seen one of these?

While in the bathroom, doing what every normal human being would be doing.. I happened to see the oddest thing. Looked like a piece of tissue from afar but it was moving.. so after doing my thing, I went near it and saw this...

I dashed out of the bathroom and grabbed a camera. I mean really.. its not everyday anyone gets to see an albino cockroach right? I mean.. since that night, Ive never seen this little fella again..

Just a thought though.. maybe if all of them looked like this.. they probably wouldnt be as scary.. theyd probably be treated like butterflies if they flew at you.. no swatting.. hmm.. probably :)

Sugar Free and Diarrhea

DIARRHEA

Such an unusual thing to blog about.. but because of a friend's situation, I checked out what food shes supposed to avoid so I could stop her on her tracks before she starts ordering something that would make her cry bloody murder during dinner tonight.

And I was surprised to find sugar free food on the list because apparently, some sugar substitutes actually have laxative effects to the body and that they contribute to flatulence and bloating.

So whether you have diarrhea or at least dont feel like having one... avoid sugar free stuff... and yes, that includes items that says "diet" or "light" . But if you are looking towards weightloss and dont mind these uncomfortable side effects.. then go the hell for it! yaaaay for sugar-free!!!

For more information, you can Click Here to view other things you should avoid when having tummy trouble :)

Best of health to everyone!

Coffee Painting

I heard about this girl who painted using coffee.. Sunshine Plata.. So I decided to let out a bit of my pent up creativity and made my own... Lo and behold my first coffee painting..

Of course this doesnt come as close to the style and finesse Sunshine has displayed on her works.. but hey.. this isnt so bad for a first timer right? :D :D :D say yes! :D

Blog Name Background

Hi there! Im loving my blog name! Ive always wondered what the hell a beatnik was, and I came across a site while looking for a decent symbolic blog name and thought about googling it. Found a simple yet understandable meaning at the free dictionary

beat·nik (btnk)
n.
A person, especially a member or follower of the Beat Generation, whose behavior, views, and often style of dress are pointedly unconventional.

You can check out what a Beat Generation is at wikipedia coz its too long to post here.

Anyway, I thought, this is so me! I am such a non conformist! Like to give a brief background:

  • Im one who hates having roaches, mosquitos or any living thing killed.
  • Im one who sweats over a flying paper trying to free a mouse stuck to it.
  • I enjoy going to born again masses more even if my beliefs are catholic (oh dont get me started on their rules @.@).
  • I gave up a 3D Artist career and landed a job as a Barista wherein someone dubbed me as the "barista na may driver" (a barista that has a driver).
  • I also have a passion for Jazz music while most people my age go for alternative, rock, house or trance.. I could say I have an old soul... though acting my age is unknown to me. I am a 27 year old who is just as comfortable and happy as can be with an early 20s attitude. Good thing my face has been supportive of me.
  • As for my dressing up, I would still pick comfort and would rather look like everyone else than look like some idiot trying to set a trend. But I dont go for branded stuff, I love tiangges :)

Alright, this has gone on way too long.. So im going to keep it here. I cant wait to share my thoughts on the next post :)
